Yum!! Came here on a weekday for lunch and it wasn't busy! We ordered at the counter and then found a spot to sit. This used to be the old gourmet dumpling house so the seating area is pretty small. They offer self serve water and tea. The tea actually wasn't too bad. We ordered the pork soup dumplings and the spicy beef soup dumplings. Both were very good! The order took about 15 minutes to prepare. There is vinegar, soy sauce and chili oil at the tables. The chili oil was very fresh and the chilis had a nice crisp to them. The dumplings had enough flavor that you really didn't need to dip in any sauce. Soup dumplings are on the smaller side but expected given the price point. A quick fix for soup dumpling cravings. Looking forward to trying the other dishes!

I'm still reeling from our incredible experience at Nan Xiang! The dumplings were truly out of this world, and I can't wait to go back for more Here's what we tried: * Pork Soup Dumplings: Absolutely delicious! These rival Din Tai Fung's famous soup dumplings. A must-try! * Pork Pot Stickers: I might have loved these even more than the soup dumplings! The 5-spice flavor added a nice warmth. * Beef Stuffed Scallion Pancakes: Decadent and amazing. A bit indulgent, but totally worth it! Other Perks: * Complimentary hot tea and soy, vinegar, and chili oil at the table * Fast and easy ordering through the app or in-store iPad * Dine in or take out - your choice! * Tip: Download the app for a first-time discount Initially, we were concerned about the casual, fast-food vibe and disposable containers. But, honestly, it added to the charm! We ended up loving the no-frills experience. Nan Xiang, we'll be back for more!

An inauspicious looking place in Chinatown serves up some delicious food. They specialize in soup dumplings which were great. We stopped in for a quick bite and enjoyed the soup dumplings as well as the Shanghai stir-fried noodles. You order at a kiosk or at the register and after a short wait the food was ready for pickup. Fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Recommended!

Flavors - 4.6/5 Textures - 3.5/5 Presentation - 3/5 Value for Money - 3.5/5 Would return? Yes Must-try: chicken & shrimp Siu Mai Amazing flavors, lacking in execution, is how I would describe this place. My favorite every time I go is either the Chicken & Shrimp Siu Mai, or the wonton soup. The soup dumplings taste amazing. My problem is they are a bit soggy and overcooked, which make them break easily when manipulated. Also, they have almost no soup inside. The pork, shrimp and chive dumplings also taste amazing, but again the wrapper was completely falling apart from being overcooked. These also had a crazy thick wrapper and half of them came broken. I would eat them again just because they taste so good thou, but they lack that satisfying chew. Love the ordering through the app and that they have free water and tea!

This is a really small busy restaurant with only around 7 small tables for dine in (not the best spot to linger and chill here with your friends). When you step inside, you can place your order using their kiosk or in person at the counter. Highlights: XLBs: We tried out few of the different XLBs here including their signature pork, crab with pork, and their spicy beef dumplings. The pork and crab/pork XLBs had a decent amount of soup in which the flavor of the filling is on the lighter clean side. If you prefer your XLBs to have more of a flavor kick, this is not the place for you. I also didn't like the dumpling skin as it had a somewhat mushy and sticky outer top layer. I did appreciate that they do a spicy braised beef XLB here as this is not something you would typically see on the menu at other restaurants. The spicy beef dumplings were much more flavorful than the other ones. Signature Fried Rice: This was really bland. Made me wonder if they had forgotten to add salt and MSG. Taiwanese Spicy Braised Beef Noodle Soup: This was excellent! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the beef was tender. My only advice would be to make sure you eat this right away as the noodles will get soggy pretty quickly. While this location is not as good as the other two locations that i've been to in NYC (especially when it comes to the XLBs), the food here is still solid.

What a great addition to Boston Chinatown! I have tried Nan Xiang in NY and glad to see it expand to Boston. This is a fast casual dining restaurant. You can order from the touch screen menu or at the counter. I like the touch screen menu because you can spend time looking at all the different selections and make any additions and change your mind without feeling pressured! Once you order, you can choose your table while you wait for your food. This place is absolutely self-served. They have an area for you to grab your utensils and water/tea. Once you are done, you clean up your table. I actually like this concept, especially having gone to school in the area, I would have appreciated a restaurant like this at the time! The food is amazing! There is a variety of soup dumplings, dumplings, appetizers, rice dishes, and noodle soups. Everything was made deliciously. I tired the soup dumplings which the wrapper was thin with soupy umami pork filling! The wonton soup is also really flavorful. In addition, we tried the vegetarian noodle soup, hot and sour soup, Shanghainese rice cake, and pork fried buns. There is a wide selection of good quality dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant!
